Keep your style & your cool with a Bardot Dress

@LovedbyLizzi

I'm certainly getting into this trend of the 'off-the-shoulder' look - until now I didn't realise just how easy it is to wear. I'm still conscious of the fact it's not suitable for me to wear it to work, but I think that's what I love about it, it's making the weekend wardrobe more glam.

My daily work-wardrobe gives me the opportunity to dress up, leaving my weekends mainly to dress down.  I got this fabulous Bardot dress from M&S, which I wasn't expecting to buy (I was actually in there for food but this dress caught my eye!) it's the best way to purchase (in my opinion) if you spot it, and you like it, then you need to try it on.

The dress funnily enough didn't look much on the hanger, yet my experience tells me, these are sometimes the best items to try on, you'll always be surprised at just how well they fit - well let's be honest a hanger is not a woman's body!

My first look below is dressing it up, versatility is high in my book. I swapped the matching fabric belt and opted for metallic gold, along with some dangly earrings and my go to gold clutch that I love.  I'm also wearing my new sandals from Dune, more about them in the bottom of this post.

When it comes to jewellery, do one or the other, I could have worn a statement necklace, and then it would be a case of no dangly earrings. Less is always more.

And the image below is more a weekend shopping vibe; with the sunnies on, less jewellery (well for me it would be) and a big tote, You can see here the fabric belt which ties lovely in at the waist, without giving you that extra definition if you don't want to highlight it.

The fabric is an easy jersey, no creasing and it keeps you very cool - I've washed this dress too and it was easy to dry and next to no ironing needed - another thumbs up in my books!

I've had a good look online, and I have to say you are spoilt for choice!  You can find a Bardot dress in mini, midi and maxi, in a huge range of colours and prints - so here are a few I'd like to show you...

This looks similar to the one I got from M&S, which I found on the Debenhems site for Dorothy Perkins.

£45

This pretty yellow dress is a fabulous colour, and perfect for those who prefer not to wear a dress that's belted.

& Other Stories
Embroidered Off-Shoulder Dress
£65

For a more casual dress, I would opt for this one from Hush - great colour and definitely a fabulous look for the weekend.

Laurel Off Shoulder Dress
£85

As a huge Biba fan, I'm loving this one! I think it looks to be a good option for a night out or I would even consider this as a possible choice for a wedding or christening.

Biba Bardot - Tie waist printed midi dress
Was £89, now £71.20

And not forgetting my new lovely rose gold sandals from Dune - which were £33, I paid £23 at House of Fraser, but they are available at Dune discounted to £26.

They also have them in this love royal/navy blue metallic too - perfect if your skintone is cool (Winter or Summer season)

And on a completely different subject; I've decided to add into this post an interview tip I put on Instagram - at the time I wrote it the picture reminded me of this funny question an old boss used to use in an interview about Jam - but you know what, if you are interviewing this week or will be interviewed, you never know - this may just help you out!
